iOS 10.3 Beta 1 VS iOS 10.2.1 Speed Test Comparison On Vidoes

Folks who are interested whether the next Apple's software release will improve performance on their devices then check iOS 10.3 beta 1 vs iOS 10.2.1 speed test review. Just a few days ago, Apple launched the first beta of iOS 10.3 that brought a bulk of new features including Find My AirPods, user security section in Settings, APFS, and more. An important change, though, seems to bring about a huge difference in performance is the new Apple File System.

Apple first debuted APFS with macOS Sierra last year but did not implement it in the final release of the OS. It was widely expected that Apple would make APFS its primary file system with the release of iOS 11 and the next version of macOS, but the company decided to pull the trigger earlier than usual for iOS devices. Apple clearly notes that the file system in iPhones, iPads, and other iOS devices will automatically be switched to the APFS.

Among other enhancements, Apple File System will also bring some notable speed improvements. As the iOS 10.3 beta 1 vs iOS 10.2.1 speed test comparison video below between various iPhones running the above firmware show, the switch to the new file system leads to the likes of iPhone 6s, iPhone 6, and iPhone 5s booting at least 3-7 seconds faster than iOS 10.2.1. This is likely due to the increase in read speeds caused by the switch to APFS. App loading times have also been reduced which is especially noticeable while loading heavy apps and games.

All iPhones running iOS 10.3 beta 1 start up considerably faster than when they were running iOS 10.2.1. To put that into numbers, you can expect faster start up times by around 3 seconds faster on the 6s running iOS 10.3 beta 1 and up to around 7 seconds on the iPhone 5. In between, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 5s display similar improvements.

Apple is expected to release the final version of iOS 10.3 in March alongside the launch of new iPads.

Downgrade iOS 10.2.1 to iOS 10.2 Is No Longer Possible

It is no longer possible to downgrade iOS 10.2.1 to iOS 10.2 as Apple has just closed the signing window for iOS 10.2 software release. This means that users can no longer update, downgrade, or restore to that firmware, either using over-the-air mechanism or through iTunes. It is also impossible to save blobs for iOS 10.2 through any tool.

Yalu 10.2 jailbreak that was released last week supports only for 10.2 firmware version. This means that 64-bit iOS devices owners who have already upgraded to iOS 10.2.1 will not be able to restore their device to iOS 10.2 to jailbreak it. Those who had already saved the required SHSH blobs in time are really lucky. And if you who have these blobs safe but did not restore to iOS 10.2 in time you can now rest relatively easy, knowing that in theory tihmstar’s tool Prometheus will allow them to upgrade to iOS 10.2 at a later date. But if you have not already saved the SHSH blobs for iOS 10.2 for your device, it is impossible to do it now as Apple has stopped signing the firmware. Since Yalu 10.2 jailbreak doesn't support iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, owners of these phones have very little reason to downgrade to iOS 10.2.

Folks who have already updated to iOS 10.2 and has already jailbroken it are lucky! Be cautious with your jailbreak now, and careful with the tweaks you install, as not all of them were updated to this version. A little mistake now could mean a restore to iOS 10.2.1.

iOS 10.2.1 is a relatively minor update when compared to iOS 10.2 release and only brought some security patches, bug fixes and any new features.

Few days back Apple has already seeded the first beta of iOS 10.3. This update comes with a few new features such as Find My AirPods, user security section in Settings, APFS, and more. The final version of the OS is expected to be launched in March.

Great job, your iOS 10.2 device is now jailbroken! Cydia will take some time to do the initial setup when you launch it for the first time.

Simple Trick To Get VirtualHome Functionality In iOS 10 Using Activator

In this post we will show you a nifty trick how to get VirtualHome functionality in iOS 10 using Activator. As you know the jailbreak for iOS 10 is readily available, but there are still a number of tweaks that haven’t been updated for iOS 10. One example is Virtual Home tweak which allows you to make use of the Touch ID fingerprint sensor as the Home button. Unfortunately, the tweak supports iOS 9 and hasn’t been updated for iOS 10. So if you want to enable Virtual Home functionality on your jailbroken iOS 10 device then follow easy steps below.

How To Get VirtualHome Functionality In iOS 10 Using Activator

VirtualHome jailbreak tweak allows you to tap once on Touch ID to mimic a Home button press rather than actually pressing that button. Although there is an alternative tweak called Touchr that works very similar to VirtualHome, it will cost you $1.99. If you’re looking for a free alternative, then you’ve come to the right place.

So follow the steps to learn how to mimic VirtualHome’s Touch ID functionality on iOS 10 using Activator.

Step 1: First download and install Activator from Cydia.

Step 2: Then navigate to Settings and launch Activator.

Step 3: Choose Anywhere.

Step 4: Scroll down to the section labeled Touch ID Fingerprint Sensor and choose Single Press.

Step 5: Right under System Actions, pick Home Button option.

Now when you’re within an app and tap on Touch ID once, it will take you to the Home screen. You no longer have to press the Home button and that means you don’t need to worry anymore about the wear and tear of your iPhone’s Home button.

Although this trick will not be as perfect as the actual tweak, but it is a pretty good alternative to get VirtualHome functionality in iOS 10 using Activator for free.

On the top post you can see how the look of the screen changed when the tweak is enabled. It basically makes the alert background transparent, rather than opaque and then it adds a heavy blur that sucks in any colors from anything that’s hiding behind it. In this case, that includes colors from the wallpaper, together with the surrounding app icons.

Once you turn off AdaptiveColorAlerts tweak, you’ll immediately start seeing stock-looking alert pop-ups once again. Then, to bring back the modified ones just pick the Enable option.

It should be noted that AdaptiveColorAlerts tweak works inside apps, on the Home screen and in other interfaces throughout iOS. So if you want to change your device look then AdaptiveColorAlerts tweak will colorize all alert messages to match anything behind them in iOS 10.

New Tweak Re-Launches Apps After They Crash Unexpectedly

Your iPhone has bulk of apps, grabbed from the App Store or Cydia, that crash from time to time because of various bugs. New jailbreak tweak dubbed as AutoLaunch can quickly and easy re-launch apps after they crash unexpectedly on your jailbroken device, so you don’t have to waste your time doing it by yourself.

How To Re-Launch Apps After They Crash Unexpectedly

To get started head to Cydia right now and download AutoLaunch tweak for free. The tweak supports both iOS 9 and iOS 10, so if you're jailbroken with Yalu jailbreak then you can try this great tweak. Once installed AutoLaunch will add its preferences pane to Settings app. Here you can pick only specific apps that you know might crash from time to time. This is a useful feature because you can disable the tweak for apps that continue to crash repeatedly.

If for any reason you end up in a launch/crash loop because you weren’t careful when selecting your apps, you can always get out of it by force-restarting your iPhone by pressing and holding the Home and Power button for 10 seconds. If you’re semi-untethered, you will also need to initiate the semi-untethered boot process too.

This AutoLaunch tweak is useful in cases when an app crashes unexpectedly, but loads fine the next time it is opened. If it crashes repeatedly, then this tweak will also keep on re-launching that app which can prevent you from doing anything and force you to do a hard reset. The tweak doesn’t have a “safety net” to stop auto-launching an app after it crashes repeatedly for a specific number of times. So if you have apps that crash randomly then AutoLaunch tweak will be useful for you as it will re-launch apps after they crash unexpectedly on iPhone.

How To Download GIFs From The Antenna Reddit Client App In iOS

If you prefer the Antenna Reddit client over the default app from the service itself, then you’re probably familiar with the fact that it lacks a way to download animated GIF images when viewing them from the app. New Cydia tweak fixes it by allowing to download GIFs from the Antenna Reddit client app on your jailbroken device.

How To Download GIFs From The Antenna Reddit Client App

AntennaGIFDL offers a way to download animated GIF images from the Antenna app straight to your device’s Camera Roll. So to get this ability go to Cydia’s BigBoss repository and download AntennaGIFDL tweak for free. If you’re not already using it the Antenna Reddit client app is a free download from the App Store.

AntennaGIFDL doesn’t have any options to configure, so after you install it, you can use the tweak right away. Now you will be able to load any GIF in the Antenna Reddit client app that you would normally load by simply clicking on the GIF to enter full-screen mode. When you do, you can tap and hold on the GIF for approximately 5 seconds and a Save GIF button will appear:

When you hit the button, you might see a prompt to let Antenna access your Photos, as it needs access to save the GIF there. Once you allow access, if you were asked, the GIF will be saved to your Camera Roll as an MP4 video file without sound:

Granted the file isn’t saved as a GIF file like it’s displayed in on the Reddit site, you now have a downloaded offline version of the GIF, that means you can view and enjoy it at your discretion.

AntennaGIFDL tweak supports both iOS 9 and iOS 10 devices that have been jailbroken. So if you were brave and jailbroke your iOS 10 device then you can try this tweak.

How To Disable The Spotlight Widget Page On The Home And Lock Screens

Those with jailbroken devices can disable the Spotlight widget page on the Home screen in iOS 10 with new Cydia release, dubbed as NoTodayView. With this jailbreak tweak you can turn off the Spotlight widget page individually on both the Home screen and Lock screen, depending on your demand.

Let's learn how NoTodayView tweak works in details.

How To Disable The Spotlight Widget Page On The Lock  And Home Screens In iOS 10

In order to get ability to disable the Spotlight widget page on the Home screen in iOS 10 head to Cydia and grab NoTodayView tweak for free.

What is really important is that NoTodayView tweak allows you to turn on/off the Spotlight widget page from the Lock screen and Home screen individually, so you can continue to work the functional page from the Lock screen and still stay on Home screen.

You may know about Mobius jailbreak tweak that allowed you to infinitely scroll on the iOS Home screen and while within folders. But with iOS 10 release it was killed and now NoTodayView gives you even more functionality in iOS 10.

What is more the tweak won’t turn off the Spotlight widget page from Notification Center. In this way you’re not completely locked out from this functionality if you turn it off from the Home screen or Lock screen. This can be helpful as from time to time the widgets you might use can come in handy.

NoTodayView tweak will add its preference pane to the Settings app. From there you can  choose where it should take action. You’ll also find there toggle switches individually for the Home screen and Lock screen.

So if you want to use Home screen modification tweak that was killed with iOS 10 release, then NoTodayView refreshes the jailbreak experience on your jailbroken iOS 10 device. Note that NoTodayView tweak works only with iOS 10 device so if those on iOS 9 are out of luck.

You’ll also find three Activator gesture selectors:
  • Toggle Action: this action both hides and shows the dock whenever you invoke it
  • Show Action: this action only shows the dock when it’s already hidden
  • Hide Action: this action only hides the dock when it’s already showing
Once you 're done with settings there’s no reason to respring your device as all changes would be done automatically.

Now go back to the Home screen and try to hide and then show the dock with Activator. You’ll see the following animation:

So if you really want to enjoy your wallpaper interacting with their Home screen icons in full then you should definitely try ShyDock tweak.
