How To Customize App Switcher-Based 3D Touch Gestures In iOS 10

If you have jailbroken device you can customize App Switcher-based 3D Touch gestures in iOS 10 with new Cydia release dubbed ForceTouchSwitcher. On 3D Touch-enabled devices, you can access your App Switcher with a 3D Touch gesture on the left side of the display.

Released by iOS developer CydiaGeek ForceTouchSwitcher tweak gives you visual and functional options for disabling or for extending the Switcher on the 3D Touch gestures. This tweak has two primary functions built in to customize App Switcher-based 3D Touch gestures in iOS 10:

  • Turn off the 3D Touch gesture for the App Switcher completely
  • Turn on the 3D Touch gesture for the right side of your screen in addition to the left

So ForceTouchSwitcher jailbreak tweak can use  two groups of people

1) those who don’t want to use 3D Touch gestures for the App Switcher at all; and
2) those who don’t want to be confined to just one side of the screen for gesture input.

So if you interested in one of tweak's features then you should head over to Cydia’s BigBoss repository and download ForceTouchSwitcher for free. The tweak works on all jailbroken iOS 9 and iOS 10 devices that support 3D Touch.

Once you install the ForceTouchSwitcher on your jailbroken device navigate to the Settings app and find tweak's preferences pane to start to configure its settings.

To apply and save your changes hit the respring button that is included preferences pane.

I can say most iPhone users are attuned to using the Home button to access the App Switcher, so your 3D Touch access may or may not matter as much to you. On the other hand, if you frequently use 3D Touch to access your App Switcher, then you should try ForceTouchSwitcher tweak.
