Spotlife Tweak Hides Today Widgets On iOS 10 iPhone

If you own jailbroken device you can hide Today widgets from iOS 10 iPhone. Many users don't use the Today page on the Lock screen, Home Screen, and in Notification Center, and would like to bring back the iOS 9-style Spotlight page. That's why new jailbreak tweak dubbed as Spotlife was developed by iOS developer pxcex to hide Today widgets from iOS 10 iPhone and bring back the iOS 9-style Spotlight page.

Installing Spotlife transforms the Today page on both the Home screen and Lock screen on iOS 10 devices to into a simpler iOS 9-esque Spotlight search page. Rather than showing a bevy of features you might never use in your face, the tweak causes only the Spotlight search bar and Siri app suggestions section to appear here.

So if you want to try Spotlife tweak you need to navigate to Cydia’s BigBoss repo first. The tweak is available as a free download package and is compatible with all jailbroken iOS 10 devices. The tweak will add dedicated preference pane to Settings app from where you can set your configurations.

If you’re interested in de-cluttering the Home screen and Lock screen, but don’t want to give up Today page access completely, then it is possible to access your Today widgets via Notification Center.

Apple allows to remove the Today page from the Lock screen entirely by going to Settings > Touch ID & Passcode. Spotlife in its turn doesn’t disable the Spotlight page entirely instead, it only removes the Today widgets. As the result this lets you continue conducting Spotlight searches from the Lock screen.

It should be also noted that Spotlife tweak allows you to selectively choose where the Today widgets appear in iOS, so if you like having them on the Lock screen, but not on the Home screen (or vice-versa), you can configure it in the Settings app from dedicated preference pane.
