With new jailbreak tweak dubbed as Gorgone you can enable Split View feature on unsupported iOS 10 devices. Slide Over and Split View are two great features of iOS, that Apple has limited to only few iPads for what they call, “performance restraints.” But Gorgone tweak by CydiaGeek unlocks these two features on all unsupported devices, but they must be jailbroken of course.
How To Enable Split View And Slide Over Features On Unsupported Devices
Normally Slide Over and Split View are only enabled on such devices as:
- iPad Pro
- iPad Air 2 (except Split View)
- iPad Air
- iPad mini 4
- iPad mini 3
- iPad mini 2 (except Split View)
As you can see there is no iPhone in this list and even no models of iPad, which is perfectly capable of running the feature.
So to enable Split View feature on unsupported iOS 10 devices you need to simply install Gorgone tweak that is available as a free download package from the Cydia’s Bigboss repository. The tweak supports both jailbroken iOS 9 and iOS 10 devices. Once installed, Gorgone will add its preferences pane to the Settings app where you can turn the tweak on/off the demand. It also includes a Respring button so that you can save your changes.
So now you can activate Slide Over and Split View feature on any of your devices, regardless of whether Apple has it enabled by default or not. As shown on the top post, the feature works perfectly on a 5.5-inch iPhone.
To use it, you just swipe from the right side of the screen, which displays the app picker. From there, you can choose an app, and iOS will load the app right beside the app you’re already in.
It should be mentioned that Gorgone tweak also enables Home screen rotation on unsupported devices. This means that smaller 4-inch iPhones owners can enjoy a landscape Home screen just like on the larger iPhones models.
