How To Keep iPhone 5S iOS 8.2 Jailbreak With The Apple Watch Release

Due to fact that there is no iPhone 5S iOS 8.2 jailbreak release available and with Apple Watch launch today many owners of jailbroken devices should make a decision whether to keep device jailbroken, or lose jailbreak to pair iPhone with Apple Watch.

As this complicated question worries thousands of jailbreakers we will think how to keep jailbreak on the mobile device and use Apple Watch.

Many jailbroken devices owners use their devices in their day-to-day job responsibilities and don't want to lose jailbreak for using the Apple Watch.

Here are few options that you could do in this situation.

The first option is to jailbreak iPhone 6 Plus, update to iOS 8.3 and use iPhone 5S as daily driver. This step will allow to keep iPhone 6 Plus jailbroken on iOS 8.1.2, and it let use Apple Watch with iPhone 5s. So you can place iPhone 6 Plus SIM card in iPhone 5S. Then you can use iPhone 5S as daily driver, and leave the 6 Plus for jailbreak at home. It would be really uncomfortable to get used to the iPhone 5S’ screen, but hopefully a jailbreak isn’t too far off in the distant future.

The second option is to keep iPhone 6 Plus jailbroken, and use as daily driver. Carry around the iPhone 5S as well for the Apple Watch. This option is almost the same as the first option, except for the fact that you would retain the 6 Plus as daily driver, and you'd bring the iPhone 5S just for pairing and communicating with my Apple Watch. Picking this option means that you have to walk around with two iPhones instead of one.

The third option is to downgrade iOS 8.3 and pair with Apple Watch. Use iPod touch 5th-gen, which is for example on iOS 8.1, for jailbreak stuff.

This is the best option as you will enjoy full-sized 6 Plus with the Apple Watch. As iPhone 6 Plus speed is amazing it will guarantee the best Apple Watch experience. Till the time when iPhone 5S iOS 8.2 jailbreak release will be available you can use the device in day-to-day job. You would have to carry two devices.

So if you have few iOS devices available then you can choose one of this options.

Security Flaws In iOS 8 Hack WiFi Connected iOS Device

Attackers can use security flaw in iOS 8 to hack WiFi connected iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and make it unusable. Prevoius security flaw was with iOS 7 last year too. This vulnerability was discovered by security researchers at the RSA security conference in San Francisco.

Due to fact that Apple’s iOS devices and Macs have tended to fare relatively well in the world of security, this new security flaw may prove troublesome for iPhones and iPads users though, mainly because it has the potential to cause those devices to go into a constant boot-loop.

Under the label ‘No iOS Zone,’ the iOS 8 SSL security flaw lets attackers effectively crash any iOS device that is connected to a Wi-Fi network that they control.

Using this iOS 8 bug the hackers will be able to manipulate SSL certificates in a particular way and then make a crash. The target for the hackers would be tremendous, as SSL certificates are used by a huge number of apps and websites.

The SSL certificate parsing vulnerability impact is that it actually affects the underlying iOS operating system. With heavy use of devices exposed to the vulnerability, the operating system crashes as well. It makes that devices into a repeatable reboot cycle. What is worse, iOS 8 SSL issue makes the victim’s device unusable for as long as the attack impacts a device.

Even in case hacked device owners understand that the attack goes from Wi-Fi network, they can’t disable the Wi-Fi interface in the repeated restart state. You can watch how it goes on the video.

The good news is that the group, that presented how iOS 8 hack WiFi connected iOS devices via vulnerability, is working with Apple on a fix. Hopefully fix will arrive in a future update to iOS for iPads and iPhones.

iOS 8.3 Jailbreak Launch Date Reliable Info

For those users who are waiting for iOS 8.3 jailbreak launch date here is some portion of useful information that is well worth reading.

Apple has patched all iOS 8.3, iOS 8.2 and iOS 8.1.3 jailbreak exploits used in Pangu, TaiG, PP jailbreak tools for iOS devices releasing its latest firmware update.

Those users who have got jailbroken devices have already know all the aspects of updating process. As usual, you shouldn't upgrade your jailbroken device till some knowledgeable member of the jailbreaking community will deem the new iOS update as safe to grab. So now you must not upgrade to any of the recently released iOS 8.3 / iOS 8.2 / iOS 8.1.3 updates.

With the released of three aforementioned updates Apple blocked Pangu8, TaiG and PP jailbreaks.

So if you planned to jailbreak you device then it’s highly recommended not grab iOS 8.1.3, 8.2 or 8.3 update at any cost.

Apple posted in its support article all the exploits that it has patched in newly released updates. And what is more, it named the Pangu and TaiG teams for utilizing them.

Also Cupertino giant was able to patch exploits discovered by Stefan Esser, known as i0n1c.

Famous hacker MuscleNerd has posted several tweets were he persuaded users to stay clear of the latest iOS updates.

Due to fact that Apple has now stopped signing iOS 8.1.2 firmware, that makes iOS 8.1.3 downgrade to iOS 8.1.2 impossible.

TaiG Jailbreak team organized a Mobile Security Summit last month. The purpose of that summit was to create a platform for world top jailbreak developer to have an open communication and then prepared for the better untethered jailbreak in future. Unfortunately, there were no clear news about iOS 8.2 or iOS 8.3 jailbreak launch date.

With iOS 8.3 update, that was released not so long ago, Apple has patched another TaiG exploits.

So if you have an older jailbreakable version of iOS 8 or even iOS 7, it is best to stay there if you want to keep using jailbreak tweaks and apps from Cydia until a iOS 8.1.3, 8.2 or iOS 8.3 jailbreak launch date.

But if you don’t plan to jailbreak either now or in the future, then you can upgrade your device to newly released updates.

iPhone Guide: How to Change Color of Status Bar with Jailbreak Tweak

If you are not running iOS 8.1.3 or later version of Apple mobile firmware you can still jailbreak your iPhone and iPad and install different iOS 8 Cydia tweaks to customize the looks of different parts of your firmware, for example iOS change colors of status bar. It is curious that iOS 8.4 beta 1 seeded by Apple in April can be jailbroken, at least, hacker i0n1c found exploits and managed to do so but he has no plans in releasing the jailbreak to public.

Well, if you are still using iOS 8 – 8.1.2 you are good to use tweaks. If you are bored with the same green color of your Status bar that appears when you are talking on the phone, red color when you are recording a voice memo or light-blue color during tethering procedure you should use one cool tweak that can change the stock colors to the ones you like.

iPhone Change Color of Status Bar: How to

Step 1. You need Cydia store and its great BigBoss repository. There is a free tweak Fairydust you’ll want to download and install on your iOS 7 or 8 iDevice.

Step 2. Have you finished with the first step? It is now time to launch Settings where your new program installs its own pane with configurations you can use.

Step 3. Enable the tool if you want to change the colors. Disable it when you want to get back to the stock colors Apple offers.

Step 4. There are 4 Status bars you can color the way you like. They are navigation, tethering, call and recording.

Step 5. Tap on the bar you want to customize and select any color of your choice.

Step 6. Repeat the previous step for every bar you want to change the looks of.

Step 7. The changes are applied automatically. You don’t have to respring.

What do you think about this possibility? Are new colors of iOS status bar you have changed looking better?

iOS 8.4 Jailbreak Video Concept Available

iOS 8.4 jailbreak video was posted by Stefan Esser, known as i0n1c. The video shows iPhone 6 Plus that runs jailbroken iOS 8.4 beta 1 version.

Jailbreakers as usual will develop jailbreaks, and that’s exactly what the engineers at Apple are trying to avoid happening with every new iOS release. When the company launched iOS 8.3 to the public it patched even more exploits used by TaiG and unfortunately that meant that jailbreaking just wasn’t possible if you wanted to use the latest, and most stable version of Apple’s iPhone and iPad software.

But that didn't stop hacker and today jailbreak veteran i0n1c has pushed a proof of concept video which not only introduces a jailbroken iPhone, but one that is actually running Apple’s latest beta release – iOS 8.4 beta 1.

Video of iOS 8.4 jailbreak shows that there are still some work to do, but we are nevertheless closer to a jailbreak release for the latest update.

You can check this video concept below:

When Apple company has launched iOS 8.3 it came packed with security fixes, with the count reaching almost forty. Cupertino giant takes iOS security seriously and while at present it has seemed to be relaxing its stance on jailbreaking, there is little doubt that the group inside company doesn’t like anyone messing with its operating system. That was the case when Scott Forstall was in charge, and it is most definitely the case with Jony Ive at the helm.

iOS 8.4 jailbreak video is currently is only a concept and it is not clear when it will turn into something concrete. But we hope that i0n1c makes this one a reality and launch this concept jailbreak to public.

Downgrade iOS 8.3 To iOS 8.1.3 On iOS Device Is Impossible

If you need to downgrade iOS 8.3 to iOS 8.1.3 on your iOS device then unfortunately it is impossible now only if you have got SHSH blobs of 8.1.3 saved in TinyUmbrella. Apple has closed iOS 8.1.3 singing window. But you can downgrade to older version as iOS 8.2 on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

Those iOS users who have already updated their iOS devices to iOS 8.3 and want to roll back to older versions here is easy steps to follow.

Remember that downgrading from iOS 8.3 is possible as Apple is still signing the iOS 8.2 firmware.

Apple company had patched quite a few exploits in iOS 8.2, but has followed with even more patching of exploits in iOS 8.3 now, making iOS 8.3 jailbreak even more difficult. So if TaiG will release a jailbreak for versions older than iOS 8.3, this downgrade will be useful.

Step 1: Please make sure you backup your personal data to iCloud or locally to your PC before proceeding the downgrading process.

Step 2: Now download iOS 8.2 firmware file that is suitable for your device.

Step 3: Launch iTunes, go to the device’s Summary page.

Step 4: Now hold down the Option / Alt key on your Mac’s keyboard, Shift key if you are on Windows, and tap the Restore iPhone button.

Step 5: You will now be prompted to browse and pick the iOS 8.2 IPSW file you downloaded in step 2.

Step 6: Choose and open the file, which should start the downgrading / restoring to iOS 8.2 process.

The entire downgrade iOS 8.3 to iOS 8.1.3 process will take several minutes. After it will be completed you will have successfully installed iOS 8.2 version on your iOS device.

iFunBox Not Working In iOS 8.3 Issue Fix

Now iFunBox not working in iOS 8.3device, as Apple has blocked file management access to this third party tools.

It looks like that TaiG jailbreak exploits were not the only utility Cupertino company blocked with its iOS 8.3 release. Utilities such as iFunBox and iExplorer, can no more access app directories on iOS devices that run iOS 8.3, given the updated security settings in Apple’s latest mobile OS version.

As Apple tightens up known security concerns with every subsequent mobile OS release. In this case the company has forced developers of many file managers and transfer utilities for OS X and iOS to launch newer versions of their software.

Currently trying to access the file system on iOS 8.3 using iFunBox results in a ‘App Sandbox access is restricted by Apple to ones with iTunes File Sharing enabled since iOS 8.3‘ popup message.

iFunBox developer had said that they totally lost the control of apps on their own devices. Till a solution will be found herein, the only way to restore the sandbox access will be to jailbreak your iOS device. If you’re jailbroken and have Cydia tweak OpenSSH installed, then you can have full access to the file system on iOS. Although, iOS 8.3 doesn’t have a jailbreak, which means you can’t use tools such as iFunbox to gain file system access and fix iExplorer iOS 8.3 issue on your device.

iFunBox updated its utility and launched version 2.95, which apparently brings a partial fix. All apps that have ‘iTunes File Sharing’ enabled, such as VLC player and any other file manager app, can be opened up in the sandbox environment as usual. But other apps will have to wait till a jailbreak solution is out.

iOS 8.3 jailbreak release will let OpenSSH to be installed onto the device for full file-system privileges including command line access and fix iFunBox not working in iOS 8.3 issue.

Consequently it will allow all iOS 8.3 devices to communicate via iFunBox as usual, without any limitations and issues.

Download iCloud For Windows Using Direct Link

Now you can download iCloud for Windows beta, as it has just been updated and brought 410A44 build number. It was first released in September. The app gives any iCloud user the access to different files such as videos, photos and more that have been uploaded to iCloud Drive, just right from a Windows based PC.

Cupertino giant introduced the iCloud for Windows app to public back in September of last year, that added support for the iCloud Drive feature introduced with iOS 8. What is interesting iCloud for Windows was launched ahead of the apps released for OS X Yosemite which was yet to be launched, and Mavericks did not offer such support.

If you are not acquainted with this software and haven’t used iCloud for Windows before, than all content uploaded to the iCloud Drive from your iOS device that runs iOS 8 and above can be accessed using the iCloud app directly from the Windows Explorer. The iCloud Drive feature is basically integrated into Windows Explorer where it shows up as another drive.

It is unclear currently what changes the latest beta build brings, but it is likely that Apple company had to make some implementations and modifications to the app to make it work smoothly with its new Photos for OS X app.

For multiple users outside the U.S. and Europe running Windows based PCs coupled with the much increased share of the iPhone in the world market, the move has been a welcomed one indeed.

As has been the case with earlier betas, the new 410A44 build can be downloaded only by AppleSeed testers, and it will be a while till we see an update hit the public version of iCloud for Windows.

The build can only be downloaded through Apple’s AppleSeed program website where the company lets certain users test its pre-release software. Download iCloud for Windows using this direct link.
