iOS 9.2 VS iOS 9.2.1 Beta Performance Comparison On Older iPhones

It is always interesting to compare Apple firmwares on new and on older iPhone models, that's why here is iOS 9.2 vs iOS 9.2.1 beta performance comparison. Apple has pushed iOS 9.2.1beta software to developers and to beta testers few days back. Even though this is a beta release, there are many interested users who want to know what the latest update brings to the table. With features not changing, or at least not enough for every user to notice, our attention turns to performance details. The recently launched update comes with some tiny but welcome performance improvements for older iPhone models. You can see those improvements in action on iPhone 5s, iPhone 5, and iPhone 4s in the videos below.

Apple is the company that provides high level support for older devices with software updates. Although the latest releases often run bad on aging hardware, that's why many users decide not to upgrade. But over time, Apple often works to improve the experience with performance enhancements.

And iOS 9.2.1beta 1 update is the example. The iAppleBytes has posted a series of video comparisons. And in the speed test video below you can see that the iPhone 4s clearly boots up ever so slightly quicker with the more recent software update, and appears to be slightly slower at loading built-in apps like Messages and Camera.

On the next video iOS 9.2 vs iOS 9.2.1 beta performance is demonstrated on on iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s models. You will notice that iOS 9.2.1 also boots up faster than iOS 9.2.

As you could see from iOS 9.2 vs iOS 9.2.1 beta performance comparisons there are not huge speed improvements, and certain apps appear to be slightly slower on such smartphone model as iPhone 4s running the latest software update. But users will certainly welcome Apple’s effort to improve things like boot up times on older iPhone models.
