A student and “exploit developer” based in Italy, Luca Todesco has introduced the source code for iOS 8.4.1 jailbreak. This code of the jailbreak for last publicly released iOS 8 version has been given the name Yalu. This Yalu source code comes with accompanying text that simply reads “source code of an incomplete iOS 8.4.1 jailbreak” and it is limited to tethered boot only.
And it looks like it will stick around for a while before an actual jailbreak tool is served up by Todesco for the less technically minded for jailbreaking devices on iOS 8.4.1. The reason is that the untethered code doesn’t belong to Todesco hence he can’t make it available for everyone just yet.
With this source code for iOS 8.4.1 jailbreak you have the possibility to jailbreak iDevice running the latest released 8 firmware if you know how to do it, which in turns provides OpenSSH access. It is very important to say here that as this jailbreak is incomplete, it does not install Cydia. Considering the recent status of iOS 8.4.1 jailbreak we recommend not to install it manually.
Todesco on Twitter also states that yalu for iPhone 6 will be pushed very soon. It is also advised that you stay away from the source code if you aren’t completely sure how to use it. As you could end up doing great damage to your iDevice by attempting to jailbreak it by yourself.
If you have a compatible iOS 8.4.1 device and stay away from upgrading to the latest 9 firmware in the hopes of releasing a jailbreak solution for you iDevice, then the only thing you can do is to wait and see how the situation develops with iOS 8.4.1 jailbreak source code. Due to fact that Apple has closed iOS 8.4.1 signing window, there is no way to downgrade to 8.4.1 once you have updated to iOS 9.x.
