Unlock iPhone USA AT&T Due To Carriers Agreement

From now you will be able to unlock iPhone USA AT&T, as today is the deadline for carriers start to perform the CTIA's consumer code regarding cellphone unlocking.

In December 2013, such USA carriers as the AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, FCC, U.S. Cellular, and Verizon Wireless agreed to adopt a document of six principles for consumers’ mobile phones and tablets unlocking.

Due to this agreement starting from today, the above mentioned carriers must unlock devices for both postpaid and prepaid customers and should abide by the six principles.

Clear device unlocking instructions are to be posted on the each carrier website and the unlock should take place within two days. Also there should be the information about the time of unlocking eligibility and a clear and concise statement of policy.

As was noted in agreement, carriers will unlock postpaid customer devices after the accomplishment of the applicable postpaid service contract, device financing plan, or payment of applicable early termination fee.

Carriers will unlock prepaid mobile wireless devices no later than one year after initial activation, consistent with reasonable time, payment or usage requirements.

The above mentioned carriers will inform customers about the time when their devices are eligible for unlocking. iPhone and other devices also could be unlocked remotely without additional fee. Carriers reserve the right to charge non-customers/non-former-customers with a reasonable fee for unlocking requests. But using such service you can unlock AT&T iPhone 6 or other model before the contract ends. It is much better than wait for 2 years.

After two business days after receiving a request, carriers will unlock eligible mobile wireless devices or initiate a request to the OEM. In case when the device does not qualify for unlocking or operator reasonably needs additional time to process the request, it should provide an explanation to costumer.

Notably, military members qualify for an unlock after providing proof of deployment, regardless of their contract status.

So you will be able to unlock iPhone USA AT&T, just send the request to the carrier your iPhone is tied with.
