iOS 8.3 Taig Jailbreak Update to Version 2.1.2 with New Cydia Substrate

There was a recent leak in TaiG update but the jailbreaking community was warned to avoid it. The group of Chinese hackers took some time to improve the tool and iOS 8.3 TaiG jailbreak update is already available, official and working.

The latest version of this untether program that supports iOS 8.1.3, 8.2 and 8.3 firmware versions jailbreak is TaiG 2.1.2 and it includes one important change: iOS 8.3 Cydia substrate fix. Is this fix important? It is actually. Without this substrate iOS 8.3 tweaks aren’t supported and thus users who have a jailbroken iOS 8.3 iPhone or iPad cannot install any apps or programs through Cydia store.

How to Jailbreak iOS 8.3 with TaiG 2.1.2 and Fix Cydia Substrate

Method 1.

Download TaiG 2.1.2 and run the jailbreak program. Remember to unzip the file. There is nothing else to do because this new release is already compatible with Cydia Substrate and causes no issues on all the supported mobile platforms.

Method 2.

Users who follow the instruction on how to jailbreak iOS 8.3-8.1.3 using TaiG 2.0.0 version don’t need to re-jailbreak even though you could have experienced TaiG jailbreak error 1101 when the process got stuck at 20%. While your device doesn’t support Cydia yet you can update the package and everything should work just perfect.

You can check Cydia repo as it has to offer the new Cydia Substrate package you need which is called TaiG 8.1.3 – 8.x Untether. It is available already and everything you have to do is download and install it. It will fix the issue and you will stay jailbroken.

Any method is working and you’ll be able to start using Cydia store right away. The list of iOS 8.3 supported jailbreak tweaks is getting bigger with every other day and developers continue to update their apps for this particular mobile platform.
