iPhone Guide: How to Change Color of Status Bar with Jailbreak Tweak

If you are not running iOS 8.1.3 or later version of Apple mobile firmware you can still jailbreak your iPhone and iPad and install different iOS 8 Cydia tweaks to customize the looks of different parts of your firmware, for example iOS change colors of status bar. It is curious that iOS 8.4 beta 1 seeded by Apple in April can be jailbroken, at least, hacker i0n1c found exploits and managed to do so but he has no plans in releasing the jailbreak to public.

Well, if you are still using iOS 8 – 8.1.2 you are good to use tweaks. If you are bored with the same green color of your Status bar that appears when you are talking on the phone, red color when you are recording a voice memo or light-blue color during tethering procedure you should use one cool tweak that can change the stock colors to the ones you like.

Step 1. You need Cydia store and its great BigBoss repository. There is a free tweak Fairydust you’ll want to download and install on your iOS 7 or 8 iDevice.

Step 2. Have you finished with the first step? It is now time to launch Settings where your new program installs its own pane with configurations you can use.

Step 3. Enable the tool if you want to change the colors. Disable it when you want to get back to the stock colors Apple offers.

Step 4. There are 4 Status bars you can color the way you like. They are navigation, tethering, call and recording.

Step 5. Tap on the bar you want to customize and select any color of your choice.

Step 6. Repeat the previous step for every bar you want to change the looks of.

Step 7. The changes are applied automatically. You don’t have to respring.
