iOS 8.1.3 Release: Update / Restore to iOS 8.1.2 While You Have Time

The official iOS 8.1.3 release date hasn’t been confirmed by Apple but experts expect this launch to become public any day soon. It is true that iOS 8.1.3 update is imminent, and while it can be introduced pretty soon you still have time to update or restore iOS 8.1.2.

Why would you like to run the firmware 8.1.2 before iOS 8.1.3 release is official? No one knows if iOS 8.1.3 jailbreak can be available along or after the upgrade. Developers will not be surprised if Apple patches the exploits used in PP Jailbreak and TaiG. Fans of Cydia tweaks might like to get prepared for iOS 8.1.3 update by restoring or updating to iOS 8.1.2 right away, while there is still time for this.

Some iPhone and iPad users are still running different versions of iOS 7 firmware. It is better for you to install 8.1.2 which can also be jailbroken [don’t worry, most jailbreak tweaks have been already updated to support this operating system].

Anyone who installed 8.1.2 version through OTA-update should restore to this version using iTunes. It is important for future jailbreak as issues can be caused for anyone who prefers OTA to iTunes installation.

Even if you have updated to iOS 8 or 8.1.1 already, you are advised to now upgrade to 8.1.2. This firmware fixes previous bugs and brings some new features.

Note that as soon as Apple launches 8.1.3 firmware it can stop signing the previous release and you will lose the chance to update. With the iPhone giant it is always better to prepare for the next upgrade.

Here is how to install iOS 8.1.2 on iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.
