How to Quickly Search for iOS Apps on iPhone [Jailbreak Tweak]

iOS 8 users who wish to get quick search for iOS apps on iPhone prefer working with Spotlight app. You can enhance this option by installing one jailbreak tweak called Searchlight as it brings additional features to Spotlight and improves your search experience on the iDevice.

Apple’s iOS 8 is used on millions of gadgets from across the world. A lot of iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 5S and other version owners chose to either install or update the firmware to the latest versions. A lot of people also decided to jailbreak iOS 8 iPhone with TaiG and can now download different apps and tweaks from Cydia.

Searchlight can be downloaded from BigBoss repo for $1.99. What can you get out of this program? Firstly, it gives you a chance to view all running applications right from Spotlight. Secondly, you can add the apps you like to the top of your list and this way you can launch them faster. To do so, just go to Spotlight – Favorites and click on the ‘plus’ option where you can toggle on the programs you want to appear as your favorite ones.

If you invoke Spotlight you can see the full list of all the apps you have installed on the iPhone.

If you set up the Activator gesture you will be able to open Spotlight from anywhere in iOS 8 and there is no need to use Home screen for this. Use Settings to adjust the gesture as Searchlight brings its own pane to this stock application.

While it sounds like a fun tweak to add to Spotlight feature it also slows down Spotlight a bit. At the same time, it adds the Refresh option to pane so that all the changes you add can take place without respringing your iPhone.
