How To Fix No Service And Touch ID Not Working In iOS 8.0.1

The iOS 8.0.1 update was released day ago. Although it fixes a lot of founded bugs, but users who are in the ownership of an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus got into another troubles. The iOS 8.0.1 update breaks cellular network capabilities of the devices along with Touch ID. If you’ve hit the No Service or Touch ID issue after upgrading to iOS 8.0.1, then you need to install the iOS 8.0 update manually to fix the issue.

How to backup using iCloud / iTunes

Don't forget to make a full backup of your device. As it is very important because since you downgrade to iOS 8, therefore you’ll lose everything on your device.

Go to Settings > iCloud > Backup and hit the Back Up Now button to backup everything to iCloud.
Also you can use iTunes to backup your iDevice. You should connect the device to your Windows PC / Mac and launch iTunes. Then you need to click on This Computer under the Backups pane.

Then click on Back Up Now. This might take a while depending on how much content you have on your device.

5 steps to restore using iTunes

Step 1: Download iOS 8 ipsw. Download the correct ipsw file catered for your iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus.

Step 2: When the download is completed you should connect your iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus to your Windows PC or Mac via USB. Please launch the iTunes. But before proceeding forward, turn off Find my iPhone on your device by clicking on  Settings > iCloud > Find my iPhone and turn it off.

Step 3: Select your iPhone from the left-hand side column in  the iTunes.

Step 4: While holding down the left Option key on your Mac (if you’re using Windows - left SHIFT key). Then click on the Restore iPhone button.

Step 5: Select the ipsw firmware file from the folder that you downloaded in step one. And wait till the iTunes going through the restoration process.

When the restore process is completed. you’ll be back to iOS 8.0 sans the No Service and Touch ID issues.

We are sure that Apple will come through with an official fix for this problems  in the iOS 8.0.2 in the near future. But till that time it is the only way to fix No Service  and Touch ID not working in iOS 8.0.1.
