T-Mobile Offers Network Test for iPhone 5S Users

If you have the iPhone 5S model and live in the U.S. you can get the new service from T-Mobile iPhone with network test drive option. This is not exactly as it goes with ordinary test driving but you can still get an idea how good your T-Mobile signal on iPhone 5S could be if you begin using this carrier in your everyday life.

iPhone 5S Users to Get Test Driving from T-Mobile

There is one catch you should know about. The new T-Mobile network test for iPhone 5S service was announced at the company’s Un-carrier event this June. The testing is allowed for no longer than 7 days.

Such a week-lasing test driving should give you an idea how the company works for your particular iDevice.
You will actually test not your gadget but the special test drive unit given by the store. Once you are done testing, you will have to return the unit to T-Mobile and get your personal smartphone after signing up the contract with the mobile operator.

To test T-Mobile network on the iPhone 5S you will have to put a hold o the SIM card worth $750. This way the carrier protects itself from people not returning the devices in the agreed upon time period. Thus the test drive is not free to use.

Remember that if you choose this carrier and sign the contract for 2 years, you will always be able to have T-mobile iPhone unlock request by IMEI code once you get tired of the same carrier and get a desire to switch the company and use different SIMs.

iTunes Match Upload Error: Is There a Fix?

Users complain about new iTunes match download problems. Apple Support forums have lots of complaints from users who have issues with uploading music to iTunes Match.

iTunes Match bugs appear once in a while with Apple Support forums getting complaints from customers who experience problems. The latest iTunes match issues with iOS 7 mention the inability to upload music. Some people say that matching doesn’t work. Others assure that they cannot play songs at all.

iTunes Match upload error might be fixed if you try this instruction. It works for some users, but might not work for you if there is a problem with your iDevice or system updating.

Some of the threads can be found here: Apple Support forums. As Exile Atkins says in his post, the problem has begun recently. Everything was great until this member tried to delete his library, as it was impossible to listen to the songs now. iTunes update, data erasing hasn’t helped.

Another member describes his iTunes Match problems as follows: the program update and matching do not work at all. He has tried some solutions but failed to succeed.

According to posts and complaints, users have had the problems with the program for about a week. Users who tried to restart their computer hoping to solve the problems this way didn’t get the positive results.

Some experts believe that iTunes Match bulk download happens to songs that are not sold through iTunes store. If you upload tunes from the App Store there should be not problems. At the same time, Apple has already reported that its iTunes services are not buggy so the problem is not with the services.

You might wanna try this method if you still have the problem. Just clean your cache for the iTunes Store and it might work for you. Just disable Match and go to Preferences – Advanced where you can select the option called “Reset iTunes Store Cache” and then you have to close and launch iTunes turning on your Match.

Russian Hackers Caught for Hacking iPhones & Demanding Payments

Users with iPhone hacked by two Russian guys were forced to pay them in order to return control over their account. These hackers have been detained and all iOS hacker news are talking about them now.

Young hackers who are just 23 and 17 years old found a hole in Cloud which allowed them accessing Apple customer’s accounts. The two young men gained control over accounts and demanded money for giving it back to original owners. They hacked a number of devices this way until they were detained.

Two hackers are from Moscow. Reportedly, they were caught when they tried to withdraw the money stolen from users who were attacked through iCloud breach.

Hackers users Find My iPhone app to steal access to users’ accounts. Then they emailed or called people asking for money [$50 or $100] and promising to delete all personal information in case they won’t get paid.

The two hackers were also selling Apple IDs with lots of paid content already loaded. These were their victims IDs.

I0n1c Explains How Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 7.1.1 Works

Hacker i0n1c who managed to makes his iPhone 5c with iOS 7.1.1 jailbroken explained how his program works. This security researcher [his real name is Stefan Esser] now is running Cydia on his smartphone however his jailbreak for iOS 7.1.1 will not become public, experts believe.

The news about iOS 7.1.1 untethered jailbreak quickly spread the net. Users became curious how it is possible to perform such a procedure and start using Cydia on their handsets that cannot be jailbroken with Evasi0n at the moment.

How iOS 7.1.1 Jailbreak Works

According to the hacker, his program uses the kernel bug present inside this firmware version. He assures that it is possible to get closer to this hole within app sandbox. The vulnerability is not similar to other kernel holes used by others. The buggy code allows to break out of different programs you are exploiting.

This is a very powerful untethered iOS 7.1.1  jailbreak. It can be compared to JailbreakMe3 and posix_spawn which was later turned into the base for p0sixpwn tool creation.

Cyberelevat0r allows exploit against vulnerable programs from the official Apple App Store, internal programs (for example, Mobile Safari) and within dev applications.

The exploit can be simply delivered, the hacker notes, because backed up games / apps can be re-exploited again.

The new tool created by i0n1c also showed that the vulnerability known as the stack_guard stack canary which was believed to be patched a year ago is actually not fixed. It can be used for future programs.

The discoveries found by Esser might help other hackers from the jailbreaking community to released the untethered iOS 7.1.1 jailbreak for modern iPhones and iPads. Pod2g, winocm and other hackers managed to jailbreak their iOS 7.1.1 devices as well, so the future of the jailbreaking is bright. Let’s just hope Apple won’t add any changes that kill the exploits.

Apple Improves JavaScript Engine for iOS 8 Chrome and Firefox

Apple has finally released its iOS 8 beta to developers even though some users who are not afraid of risks break free from all the rules and also install the testing version on their smartphones and tablets. The long iOS 8 features list offers numerous enhancements that will definitely be interesting to explore, test and go through.
While most iOS 8 new features are things widely discussed and expected by analysts long before the WWDC introduction of this beta operating system, there is the new iOS 8 JavaScript improvement worth talking about.

Safari versions for Macs come with the Nitro JavaScript engine that is pretty powerful and it is capable of loading all the JavaScripts twice quicker. Well, this Nitro JavaScript engine is in iOS 8 firmware now with further improvements. The Cupertino “fruit” king ported it into its mobile Safari browser back in 2011, and now the same option comes to iOS applications!

iOS 8 New Features with JaveScript Enhancement

It was previously impossible to have Firefox, Chrome and other browsers use the benefits of the fast Nitro JavaScript engine meaning users couldn’t load webpages through these third-party applications as fast as through Safari browser. This happened because of the security reasons Apple took care about.

The latest iOS 8 features seem to take care of the issues with security in browsing on the iPhone and iPad and enhanced the options making JavaScripts load as fast as in Safari, but through other browsers. The discovery was made by iOS devVickiMurley who shared the news on Twitter.

It’s not a secret that some people don’t like Safari and prefer using other programs for surfing web. Now they will get the chance to choose which app to use, getting similar performance in different programs because of the Nitro JavaScript engine improved in iOS 8 release.

Have you already installed iOS 8 on your iPhone 5S / 5c / 5 / 4S or other iDevice? Do you see any different in browsing through various apps?

WWDC Highlights from 2007: Flashback

WWDC 2014 is coming soon. Experts can’t wait until Apple presents its next iOS 8 firmware and other products. With the new conference being just around the corner it is curious to look at WWDC history. The most interesting event was held back in 2007 when the company firstly introduced its iOS system and OS X.

The conference was held in San Francisco on June 11, 2007. Its keynote was announced by Steve Jobs who introduced the first iPhone model which was previously unveiled at Macworld. The market didn’t see this smartphone yet but these were the big changes to the lives of many people across the world.

WWDC highlights 2007 also introduced the OS X 10.5 Leopard version which was released later in the fall. The same conference demonstrated the Safari browser which came to Windows and first web applications for the original iOS 1.0 iPhone as developers didn’t have enough time to get the SDK created for this firmware. The high demand caused by customers made devs using web apps at first.

Soon web applications were replaced with native programs. That year’s WWDC gave the start to the iPhone, iOS and Windows Safari. This year’s WWDC 2014 will expand this to the iOS 8 which comes with a lot of new features that couldn’t even been imagined back in 2007. The iPhone 6 is already in high demand even thought it hasn’t been even introduced yet.

Customers can’t wait to see the first sapphire glass display, powerful processor, improved camera and Touch ID sensor in this new generation handset. Apple has a lot of secrets that it will unveil sooner or later.

WWDC Live Stream 2014 Coming on Monday

Apple is going to offer WWDC live stream 2014 to all users and developers. The keynote starts on June 2, so you can watch its official site this Monday to get all the news and information about the products. The conference is being held in San Francisco. The start point is 10.00 AM Pacific Time.

Apple to Live Video Stream WWDC 2014 on June 2

Users who don’t have tickets and cannot attend the Worldwide Developers Conference this year can watch the WWDC live video stream on Mac or Windows computers. All you need is Safari browser on your iDevice or Mac and QuickTime 7 program on PC.

WWDC 2014 live stream should also be available to all Apple TV owners since the company is going to stream videos through the channel on this TV.

What will we hear on Monday? Apple is believed to speak about the new iOS 8. It is also rumored to present the new OS X version 10.10. These are the two main focuses this year though the iPhone maker might mention its next lines of gadgets as well. Of course, Apple will most likely keep its hardware products unannounced as it likes having rumors to interest customers and unveils the secrets closer to the official release date.

Thus AppleTV and iWatch fans will have to wait for a while until the company gets ready to present these projects to public.

Download WWDC 2014 iOS App for Your iDevice

WWDC 2014 event is coming soon. You can follow all the news from this conference even if you haven’t purchased tickets to attend it. Just download WWDC 2014 app and you will feel closer to the popular developer conference that takes place in San Francisco.

WWDC app download is available to all iOS 7 devices. The design of the program is native to iOS 7 users. The application also comes with the Orange theme. Everyone who wishes to get all the keynotes from this year’s event should install WWDC 2014 application before June 2 as this is the first day of the conference.

WWDC app for iPhone is similar to the last year’s release. It doesn’t offer any new options besides the WWDC app iOS 7 design and the new theme.

The program confirms that the dev event starts at 10 AM PT on June 2. Users and developers hope to see the next iOS 8 beta 1 just like it happened with iOS 7 a year ago. Apple should also present its next software and hardware projects. It might not mention the iPhone 6 which should be unveiled in the end of the summer or in September-October but it will definitely introduce the new features and options of its next major iOS firmware update.

You can download WWDC 2014 iOS app from iTunes. This is free of charge.
